About the Nevada WIC FMNP

The Nevada Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Nutrition Program, commonly known as WIC, received a grant in 2016 to implement the WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program in the counties of Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Lyon, Mineral, and Washoe.  In 2017, we were able to expand to include Elko, Humboldt, and White Pine counties.  The program provides $30 in coupons to women and children participating in the WIC program to be spent at Nevada farmers’ markets.

How can I participate?

If you are a farmer that grows produce in Nevada or the surrounding states and you participate in farmers’ markets that serve the Nevada counties of Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Humboldt, Lyon, Mineral, Washoe or White Pine counties, you can apply to become certified to accept WIC FMNP coupons.

Simply fill out an application and mail, email or fax it to either:

**Please note the application is now a joint application for the Nevada WIC FMNP and the Nevada Senior FMNP (SFMNP).  Based upon what you sell at farmers’ markets, you can participate in one or both of these programs.

What foods can I sell to WIC participants?

You may only sell fresh fruits and vegetables to WIC participants.  Nuts, jams, jellies, herbs, breads, eggs, cheese, meat and other craft items are not eligible to be purchased with WIC FMNP coupons.  Farmers participating in the Senior FMNP (SFMNP) can sell seniors fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs or honey.  Nuts, jams, jellies, breads, eggs, cheese, meat and other craft items are not eligible for purchase with SFMNP coupons.

How do I redeem my coupons?

All coupons must be stamped with your assigned redemption code on the back bottom right of each coupon which you receive once your application has been approved.  Then please deliver or mail your coupons with a completed Request for Reimbursement form to Healthy Communities Coalition in Dayton, NV:

** Coupons must be submitted for reimbursement on or by October 13, 2017.

**Please note that our processing organization changed in 2017 from RVSP to Healthy Communities Coalition.  Nevada WIC has taken steps to ensure that all coupons sent to RSVP will be redeemed but to expect a lag in reimbursement due to increased delivery time.
