WIC Buddy Program
The Nevada WIC Buddy Program seeks to pair WIC moms with other WIC moms to support one another on their breastfeeding journey. Whether you are pregnant and just thinking about breastfeeding, or are currently breastfeeding a new or older baby, the WIC Buddy Program is here for you. The Nevada WIC Buddy Program is a web-based, two-way texting platform which is only available to current Nevada WIC participants. See below for more information.
What is the Buddy Program?
The Buddy Program seeks to pair WIC moms with other WIC moms who are at a similar place on their breastfeeding journey to provide each other with support. Once you have signed up, you will be paired with a Buddy from one of our participating WIC clinics.
You can talk with your Buddy through text, and you can decide together how often you want to be in contact. If you are faced with a lactation issue, please reach out to your local WIC clinic immediately, call us at Nevada WIC (1-800-863-8942), or visit our website (nevadawic.org).
How will I be matched with a Buddy?
The NV WIC Buddy Program will match you with another mom who shares your language preference who is pregnant if you are pregnant, or with a breastfeeding mom if you are breastfeeding. You may be matched with someone who attends another WIC agency.
Matching may take some time to complete, depending on whether there is a suitable match for you in the system. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out!
What can I share with my Buddy?
