The Nevada Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program is pleased to announce the UPC Open Submission period for WIC-authorized brand specific food products has begun.
During this open submission window, manufacturers may submit UPCs for eligible brand specific food items to be considered for authorization in the Nevada WIC Program. Products approved through this process may become available to WIC participants statewide.
UPC Open Submission Details:
- Submission Period: January 1, 2026 – March 31, 2026
- Eligible Product Categories:
- Hot and Cold Breakfast Cereal
- Jarred Infant Fruits and Vegetables
- Jarred Infant Meats
- Plant-Based Milk Alternatives
- Tofu
- 100% Fruit Juice
- Nut and Seed Butters
- Plant-Based Cheese
- Yogurt and Plant-Based Yogurts
- Submission Method: Please complete the NV WIC APL Submission Form spreadsheet and associated food labels (including nutrition facts, ingredients, and UPC) and email to: DPBHWICVendor@health.nv.gov
- Approved foods will be available for purchase FFY 2027 – October 1, 2027
Please review all submission requirements carefully, including labeling, package size, and ingredient criteria, to ensure products meet federal and Nevada WIC guidelines. Those requirements are included in the NV WIC APL Submission form.
Please note, non-brand specific foods may be submitted for review and added throughout the year. Non-Brand specific food items include:
- Cheese
- Eggs
- Canned Beans
- Dried Beans/Peas
- Peanut Butter
- Canned Fish
- Whole Grains
- Fruits and Vegetables
- Milk
